Ceramic Disc
These are becoming the standard in bathroom faucets because they are nearly maintenance free and very long lasting. Ceramic disc valves contain two fire-hardened ceramic discs that control water flow by moving together or apart.

Washerless Cartridge
These valves are easier to repair and tend to cost less than other valve styles, but they tend to require more maintenance over the lifetime of your faucet. Washerless cartridges use neoprene seals to prevent leaking.

Solenoid
These valves are used mostly in commercial applications where you want to reduce the amount of water used. Electronic components are used to control the opening and closing of the valve. Requires electrical power.
